Li Qiubai’s pastel art is like a flower blooming defiantly from the folds of life. Using color as her medium and her life experience as the canvas, she has composed a gentle yet resilient autobiography of her own journey, allowing viewers to feel the true beauty and strength of life through hazy layers of color.
白露含秋 2026 · 纸本色粉 尺寸：75*56cm 李秋白的艺术无学院派系统训练根基，她师从上海博物馆装裱大师严桂荣先生，深耕古字画装裱修复三十余载，既锤炼出对材质、肌理、空间的敏锐把控，更深谙水墨晕染、留白布局的精髓，传统书画底蕴已融入其艺术底色。 Without the foundation of academic training, Li Qiubai studied under Master Yan Guirong, a renowned master art conservator at the Shanghai Museum. For over thirty years, she immersed herself in the mounting and restoration of ancient Chinese paintings and calligraphy. This experience honed her acute sensitivity to materials, texture, and space, and allowed her to internalize the essence of ink shading and compositional negative space—principles that now form the bedrock of her artistic language. 夏花之美 2023 · 纸本色粉 尺寸：75*56cm 春华秋实·系列 2020 · 纸本色粉 尺寸：75*56cm 当人生阅历与艺术修为相遇，李秋白重拾画笔，岁月积淀是其粉画创作的独特语言，既扎根中国画的传统意蕴，又受印象派、纳比派影响，融合德加粉画技法、修拉点彩手法与油画表达；突破传统透视的束缚，追求平面感与强烈的色彩张力；以叠色晕染、点彩肌理营造梦幻的色彩层次与朦胧的视觉质感。秋白笔下的繁花静物、与猫相伴的女性形象，皆无苦难痕迹，唯有对生命本真的温柔凝视。正如陈丹青先生所言，“在她的画里看不到她的磨难，她心酸的过去，她完全超越她的同代人和她自己的命运”。这份“去伤痕”的表达，是将岁月磨砺内化为艺术养分，重构出韧性、治愈与重生的生命叙事。 As life experience and artistic understanding came together, Li Qiubai picks up her brush anew. The language of her pastel creations is forged by the passage of time, rooted in the traditional spirit of Chinese painting yet enriched by the influences of Impressionism and Les Nabis. She combines the pastel techniques of Degas, the pointillism of Seurat, and the expressive elements from oil painting, moving beyond traditional perspective to pursue flattened forms and vibrant color tension. Through layered shading and pointillist textures, she creates dreamlike color harmonies and a hazy visual texture. In her depictions of blossoming flowers and women accompanied by cats, there is no signs of hardship, but instead expressing a quiet and tender reflection on life. As Chen Danqing once said, “In her paintings, you see her suffering or painful past.
